Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has suggested a revised plan of building a metro link between Noida and Ghaziabad with the objective of providing a push to the regional connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR). The corporation has authorized the extension of the Blue line further from the Noida Electronic City to Mohan Nagar at an estimated budget of Rs 1866 crore. This exclusive metro corridor of length 5.91 km is going to feature six stations, according to the plan which are Vaibhav Khand, DPS Indirapuram, Shakti Khand, Vasundhara Sector 5, Vasundhra Sector 2, and Mohan Nagar.
Previously, the DMRC has suggested another route to carry out the metro extension from Noida to Ghaziabad. The suggestion was negated later and the corporation submitted a revisited extension plan which included two more stations and less budget than the previous one. When compared against each other, the revised plan clearly covers more areas and would help the corporation to save many crores.
Housing demand to increase
The extension of the metro from Noida to Ghaziabad is all set to contribute heavily in the real estate growth of regions like Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. The coming times certainly hold great promise for both commercial and residential sectors. The standing of the micro-markets falling close to the Noida-Ghaziabad route will witness a massive transformation leading to escalation of housing demands in these regions. With the support of triggered real estate activities, the projects in areas like Vasundhara, Shakti Khand, and Indirapuram are anticipated to grow by 4 to 5 percent. The territories which have been witnessing major lows in the realty sector due to the traffic and connectivity problems will now be a definitive prospect for major growth in the real estate landscape. Various Micro-markets like Mohan Nagar, Raj Nagar extension, Sahibabad Industrial Area, and others in Ghaziabad are likely to attract the most amount of eyeballs.
Apart from this, the metro corporation has also granted one more metro extension under phase 4 in blue line from Vaishali to Vasundhara Sector 2. The progressions of this corridor will start once the metro extension of the Noida Electronic City to Mohan Nagar is completed. Approved on a budget of Rs. 1438 crore, the proposed metro link will incorporate three stations in the form of Prahladgarhi, Vasundhara Sector 14, and Sahibabad. The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is planning to approach the same ways of funding, which was adopted by the New Bus Stand- Dilshad Garden metro corridor for this proposed advancement.
