What is difference between normal ply & lumber core ply?

I want to know how normal ply is different form lumber core ply.

Normal ply is made from made from chemical procedure with a short life wood. It generally comes in light colors like light sandy color. On the other hand lumber core ply comes in dark wooden color. It is water proof and long life. It is made from pieces of hard wood like basswood. Its core is surfaced and layered with veneer. It is among the expensive plywood you can get around.
